Greetings Families and Students,

I am honored that the Beverly Hills Unified School District has appointed me as the new principal of Horace Mann School. With great enthusiasm, I will serve Beverly Hills and work with its dedicated staff, parents and community members. Most importantly, I look forward to working with the children of Beverly Hills and supporting the outstanding traditions of academic success at Horace Mann School.

I come to Horace Mann with fifteen years of service in education. For several years, I have had the experience of being an Assistant Principal for two different schools, West Ranch High School located in Stevenson Ranch and Bishop Alemany High School located in Mission Hills. Before being an administrator, I received my doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California. Prior to being a site administrator, I had the pleasure of teaching English and sharing my love of literature, reading and writing at Arroyo Seco Junior High School located in the Santa Clarita Valley.

It is clear that there are deep ties, genuine love and care throughout the Beverly Hills community for Horace Mann School. Its history of school leadership and excellent teaching inspires me and I will continue to support the educational traditions created by its talented staff and committed parents. My goal will be to uphold the goals that Horace Mann has created and build upon the strong foundation that already exists. As a community, we will work together to provide daily opportunities to support educational, physical, and emotional growth of every child on campus.

To share some personal information, I was born and raised in Southern California. My husband, Adam, who is also a USC Alumni, is an excellent art teacher at a junior high school. My son, Jacob, is seven years old and attends a public school in the Santa Clarita Valley. He participates in sports year round, plays chess, and takes art and music lessons. My family and I are devoted USC Trojan fans and play tennis together. I love reading, our dog, Bruno, and travelling with my family.

Once the school year begins, please do not hesitate to stop by and say hello. You will see me throughout the campus and I will be present during the morning student arrival and after school dismissals. Your children will see me on the playground with them and in their classrooms. I hope to get to know the story and the hopes and dreams of every child on our campus. I welcome the opportunity to meet and forge a relationship with every student, staff and family member at Horace Mann School. To reach me, my email address is jfine@bhusd.org.

Have a wonderful rest of your summer break!

Warmest Regards,

Juliet Fine
