Hello!  I am Rebecca Castrapel.  I received my B.A., teaching credential, and M.Ed. from UC Santa Barbara.  This is my 12th year teaching, and my 7th year in Kindergarten!  Previously, I coordinated and ran the English Language Learner program (K-8), provided Title 1 Intervention support (3-5), and also taught 7th and 8th grade English!  Kindergarten is a challenging, high-energy, and thoroughly rewarding grade level to teach, and I am very much looking forward to working with your children!

I have an 8-month old son, named Hutton, who keeps me super busy outside of school!  My husband is a camera assistant and Hutton and I live vicariously through his adventures!  We have a rescue Greyhound named Bruce (after the Boss), and two cats: Drummer (named after Rick Allen) and Billie (after Billie Holiday).  I like to spend my time in the water (both the pool and ocean), reading, listening to music, being creative, and navigating the world as a new mom!

I'm excited to see what this year has in store for our class!
