Purpose of the School Site Council: School Site Councils for Title 1 schools give all stakeholder groups (administrators, parents, students, and staff) a real voice in school-based decision-making and allocation of Title I funding. School site councils are comprised of peer-elected representatives, teachers and administrators whose main responsibility is to collaborate with the principal on specific matters that affect student achievement, school improvement and Title I funding. In Beverly Hills Unified School District, SSCs also act as an advisory committee on the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
