Welcome to 4th Grade!

Hello! My name is Maria Stamatogiannakis but you are welcome to call me Maria Stam. I received my B.A. in elementary education from Florida State University and my M.Ed. from Johns Hopkins University. I am working toward my doctorate in education from the University of Southern California (go Trojans!) and will graduate in May 2023. I began teaching in 2015 as a Teach for America corps member in Charleston, South Carolina and have had the privilege of working in four different states! 

 

I have two fluffy, orange cats that love to have their picture shown in class. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, and exploring all of the wonderful things that Southern California has to offer. 

 

I am excited to work with you and your child this year. I believe that open communication is key and encourage you to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have at [email protected]. I also love hearing exciting news and celebrating your child's successes. In addition to ParentSquare, I send a newsletter home every week with curriculum news, updates, and upcoming events.
